Thank you…

On behalf of the Sarnia Legionnaires Junior ‘B’ Hockey Club and the Lilley Family, we would like
to thank all those who came out to the Penny M. Lilley Memorial Wooly Toss. Between the woolies
thrown on the ice, and our advanced collection, over 3000 items were collected! This was the largest
collection of woolies ever received, easily beating out last year’s record. We also collected a significant
amount of cash donations, which were used to buy $2750.00 in grocery cards for the St. Vincent de Paul
“Yule Glow” Christmas food hampers, woolies for donation, and wool for our most dedicated knitters.
For those who were unable to attend, but still donated, we send our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
Mom/Penny would have been overwhelmed by the support of this incredible community.
Hopefully, in the coming years, we can continue to meet or exceed these collection numbers
and provide the charities with these much needed and appreciated items. Remember that we are
always accepting donations of wool, woolies and cash throughout the year. The woolies are divided
amongst Pathways Health Centre for Children, St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Salvation Army, and the
Inn of the Good Shepherd. This event was the creation of Matt Churchill in 2011 and has increased in
size every year. For anyone who is interested, you can view pictures from both the Turkey Toss, and the
Wooly Toss events on the Sarnia Legionnaires Facebook site. Thank you once again for your generous
donations!
